Why Walk It is an alumni-founded company built on one simple belief: shared scooters can be a great thing for a campus — as long as someone's actually managing them.
We spent our college years on a busy campus, so we know both sides of the scooter story. On one hand, they're genuinely useful — a quick way to get across a big campus between classes. On the other, when nobody's in charge of them, they end up speeding down walkways, dumped in front of doorways, and blocking the ramps people rely on.
We started Why Walk It to prove there's a better way: a small, well-run fleet where safety is built into the scooter itself, and where a real team stands behind it every day. Not a national rollout that treats every campus the same — a focused program designed around one community at a time.
Every decision starts with one question: does this make the campus safer? If it doesn't, we don't do it.
We'd rather run one program exceptionally well than a hundred poorly. Focus is a feature.
We've lived the campus experience ourselves, and we build for the students and staff who are living it now.
We share real data, admit what we don't know yet, and let results — not promises — do the talking.
Jordan leads the business side of Why Walk It — partnerships, operations, and getting the program off the ground. A university graduate with a background in business and accounting, he's the one making sure every pilot is built on solid footing and a fair deal for the campus.
Elijah co-founded Why Walk It with the same conviction: campuses deserve micromobility that's actually managed. A fellow university graduate, he's focused on making the day-to-day experience safe, reliable, and genuinely useful for riders.
Whether you're a campus, a community, or just curious what we're building, we'd love to hear from you.
